Overview

Osmo Wood Wax Finish is a coloured wood finish ideal for use on interior woodwork including panelling, mouldings doors and beams. It contains a unique combination of natural oils and waxes that offer stain resistance, water-repellence and abrasion resistance. Its microporous properties give a breathable finish that does not crack, peel or flake whilst being durable and hardwearing.

Note: Wood grain remains visible with transparent tones and wood grain can be hidden with intensive tones

Preparation

Ensure the surface is clear from debris, dry and frost-free

• Clean old microporous stains thoroughly.
• Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed by sanding or using a paint stripper such as . Do not sand smooth surfaces finer than grit P120.
• Sand wood carefully, begin with a 120-150 grit for floors and 220-240 for furniture.
• Remove all dust by sweeping or vacuuming the surface.

Application

Before applying the product test a small area on the surface to be treated to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Results are influenced by the condition of the wood therefore a trial application is highly recommended.

Transparent Colour

• Stir the product thoroughly.
• Apply using a brush, microfibre roller or Oil Finish Applicator Fleece we recommend using .
• Apply
  thinly evenly along the wood grain and spread well.
• Allow to dry for 12 hours under good ventilation.

Intensive Colour

• Stir the product thoroughly.
• Apply using a brush, microfibre roller, we recommend using .
• Apply very thinly evenly along the wood grain and spread well.
• Allow to dry for 12 hours under good ventilation.
• Apply a second coat as above.

Note: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the bottle.

Aftercare & Storage

Cleaning

Dust mopping using the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Damp mopping using or .

Maintenance

Intensive cleaning and refreshing using or Osmo Maintenance Oil.

Recoating

Simply re-apply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.
